ANOTHER TEST FOR YANGA

By The guardian reporter
11th October 2012

After dropping three precious points during their first leg match of the sixth round against Kagera Sugar last Monday, Kagame Cup holders Young Africans meet hosts Toto Africa at the CCM Kirumba Stadium this afternoon.

While it used to be a formality game for the Dar es Salaam side to haul three points whenever they meet Toto regardless of the venue, today’s encounter might prove otherwise.
Yanga lost terribly to the Mwanza team during their return leg match at the time when the Dar es Salaam side was urgently in need of points to boost title chase.

Today’s encounter is eagerly awaited by fans of both sides to ascertain whether the home side will maintain their supremacy over Yanga team.

Yanga have not lost matches in back to back pattern and should that happen this time might ignite trouble from fans and officials of the team.

Fresh memories are still lingering in the head of new coach Ernest Brandts who tasted his first defeat in charge of the team at the hands of Kagera Sugar barely three days ago in Bukoba.
Toto have in most cases proved a hard nut to crack at home but not to Yanga save for the return leg of the previous season.

With fresh wounds still haunting Yanga, today’s match is expected to be a thriller basing on the slight growing rivalry between the two sides.

Yanga will be urgently looking for a victory to restore faith and pride of their fans scattered across the country.
Ninth-placed Toto would be fighting to move out of the relegation haunted region while Yanga are in attempt to stabilise their position among the top five in the standings table.
Yanga are seventh placed in tie with Mtibwa Sugar on points but enjoy a slight positive goal aggregate advantage.

Toto have not lost at home since the season kicked off mid last month and savour great composure having won their last match at home to JKT Ruvu over the weekend.
Troubled Yanga have dropped ten points after six appearances and additional three for today would brew crisis after offloading their Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet who was in charge for barely two matches in the new season.
